Page 4 – Clean an Iron

If your iron’s soleplate is looking burned or grimy, toothpaste can help it shine again. Just use a whitening toothpaste—never a gel—and spread a small amount on the bottom. With a damp cleaning toothbrush, scrub in gentle circular motions until the buildup loosens. Rinse carefully without getting the iron wet inside, then dry it completely. Once it’s dry, turn the iron on high and hit the steam burst a few times to clear out any leftover toothpaste.
